Not only did global girl group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/katseye\/\" id=\"auto-tag_katseye\" data-tag=\"katseye\">Katseye<\/a> earn a Best New Artist nomination, but Huntr\/x, the girl group from <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/kpop-demon-hunters-success-netflix-why-1235448146\/\">Kpop Demon Hunters<\/a><\/em>, earned numerous nominations for \u201cGolden,\u201d the hit song from the Netflix film.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t2026 will mark the first time in nearly 20 years that a girl group\u2019s song gets a nomination in the Song of the Year category, thanks to the nod for \u201cGolden.\u201d The last time that a girl group was nominated in the category was in 2007, when the Chicks won for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/the-chicks-not-ready-to-make-nice-maga-anthem-tiktok-1235086869\/\">\u201cNot Ready to Make Nice.<\/a>\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIf \u201cGolden\u201d wins for Song of the Year, the Grammy would go to EJAE and Mark Sonnenblick, who co-wrote the track for Huntr\/x, the animated trio voiced by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami. Both songs are up against Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande\u2019s \u201cDefying Gravity,\u201d Ros\u00e9 and Bruno Mars\u2019 \u201cAPT,\u201d and SZA and Kendrick Lamar\u2019s \u201c30 for 30.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn the Best New Artist category, Katseye is repping girl groups, which have seen decent representation over the years: Wet Leg was up for the award in 2023, Chloe x Halle earned a nod in 2019, and Haim was up for it in 2015. This year, Katseye will face off against Olivia Dean, the Mar\u00edas, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young.
