Those were our heroes growing up.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIn the middle of the deep intimacy of his speech, during which Big Boi lovingly pulled fur from his fluffy coat out out of Andr\u00e9 3000\u2019s beard, the flute-playing<\/a> OutKast member fought back tears while referencing fellow 2025 inductee Jack White. \u201cMan, he\u2019s one of my favorites. Man, we love you \u2026 He said something about little rooms, and we started\u2026\u201d Andr\u00e9 3000 said before choking up. \u201cGreat things start in little rooms.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\tEditor\u2019s picks<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n \n\tWith that, Big Boi and the newly Grammy-nominated Atlanta rapper J.I.D. opened the set with \u201cATLiens\u201d before tossing it over to Doja Cat for \u201cMs. Jackson.\u201d Doja sang Andr\u00e9 3000\u2019s bridge <\/strong>before breaking into a choppy performance of his rap verse, but Tyler, the Creator picked it up from there, bursting onto the stage with \u201cB.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)<\/a>.\u201d Fittingly, Janelle Mon\u00e1e was assigned the true-classic single \u201cHey Ya!\u201d Monae blazed through the song with some theatrical support from a crew of dancers. For the final song in the set, Killer Mike joined Doja Cat, J.I.D., Tyler, the Creator, Sleepy Brown, and Janelle Mon\u00e1e alongside Big Boi for \u201cThe Whole World.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tOutKast received a sprawling introduction from Donald Glover, who grew up listening to OutKast in Atlanta before infusing that influence into his work as Childish Gambino. \u201cBig Boi and Andr\u00e9, I want to personally, thank you. Around the time Speakerboxxx\/The Love Below <\/em>came out, I wrote a letter from college to my brother, and I said, \u2018I had a dream that we wrote a show together,’\u201d said Glover, foreshadowing his hit show Atlanta<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThank you for showing me that brothers may not always see eye to eye and their philosophies or styles, but they need each other in a world that would rather see them both fail together. \u2026 Atlanta is not the music mecca it has become without you.
