{"id":51291,"date":"2025-11-09T06:23:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-09T06:23:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/11\/09\/cyndi-lauper-celebrates-with-all-female-performance-at-rock-hall\/"},"modified":"2025-11-09T06:23:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-09T06:23:13","slug":"cyndi-lauper-celebrates-with-all-female-performance-at-rock-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/11\/09\/cyndi-lauper-celebrates-with-all-female-performance-at-rock-hall\/","title":{"rendered":"Cyndi Lauper Celebrates With All-Female Performance at Rock Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/cyndi-lauper\/\">Cyndi Lauper <\/a>celebrated her induction at the 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/category\/rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame\/\">Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame<\/a>\u00a0ceremony with an impressive, multi-generational display of female talent.<\/p>\n<p>The performance began with a poignant rendition of &#8220;True Colors,&#8221; with Lauper singing solo and inviting the audience to join her.\u00a0British singer-songwriter Raye\u00a0joined for the next tune, the touching 1983 classic &#8220;Time After Time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lauper&#8217;s set concluded with her defining hit, &#8220;Girls Just Want to Have Fun.&#8221;\u00a0Early 2000s pop-punk queen Avril Lavigne joined for the tune, adding her energetic vocals to the rendition.\u00a0Rap group Salt-N-Pepa, who were honored earlier in the evening, even returned to triumphantly sing the song&#8217;s chorus alongside Lauper.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/rock-hall-2025-red-carpet-photos\/\">2025 Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame Induction Red Carpet Photos<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Drummer Gina Schock &#8212; a Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Famer in her own right having been <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/go-gos-rock-hall-induction-cleveland\/\">inducted<\/a> with the <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/go-gos\">Go-Go\u2019s<\/a> in 2021 &#8212; provided the backbeat throughout the set. Lauper&#8217;s backing group also featured Lisa Coleman on keyboards, who was famously a member of Prince\u2019s backing band, the Revolution.<\/p>\n<h3>Cyndi Lauper&#8217;s Road to the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame<\/h3>\n<p>Since bursting to stardom in the 1980s, Lauper has continually been a proud and vocal feminist. Her classic hit \u201cGirls Just Want to Have Fun\u201d remains a fun yet empowering anthem, and the singer has regularly used her platform to preach equality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/greatest-frontwomen-rock\/\">25 Greatest Frontwomen in Rock History<\/a><\/p>\n<p>When Lauper was announced among the 2025 Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame inductees, she graciously thanked many of the women who came before her.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m humbled to be in the company of so many of my heroes &#8211; Aretha, Tina, Chaka, Joni, Wanda, to name just a few,&#8221; the singer wrote on social media <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/cyndi-lauper-rock-roll-hall-of-fame-reaction\/\">at the time<\/a>. &#8220;Women have made so many important contributions to music and to rock n roll and a win for one of us is a win for all of us. Thank you to the voting members of the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame for this honor. And thank you to my fans for supporting me throughout my career. I could not do any of this without you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lauper embarked on a successful farewell tour this year that concluded at the end of August, however it didn\u2019t totally bring her performing days to an end.
