OutKast<\/a> are officially part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n The legendary duo were inducted at a star-studded ceremony on Saturday (November 8) in Los Angeles alongside the likes of The White Stripes, Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden and fellow hip-hop pioneers Salt-N-Pepa<\/a>.<\/p>\n Tyler, The Creator<\/a>, Killer Mike<\/a>, JID<\/a>, Doja Cat<\/a> and Janelle Mon\u00e1e<\/a> all took the stage for a tribute medley to Andr\u00e9 3000<\/a> and Big Boi<\/a>, performing renditions of classic OutKast hits like \u201cB.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad),\u201d \u201cMs. Jackson\u201d and \u201cThe Whole World.\u201d<\/p>\n Big Boi himself was also part of the performance, joining JID for \u201cATLiens\u201d and Sleepy Brown<\/a> for \u201cThe Way You Move.\u201d<\/p>\n Childish Gambino<\/a> had the honor of formally inducting OutKast into the Hall of Fame, and praised the group for \u201c[making] it possible to imagine experimenting on the biggest stage and to aim for the impossible.\u201d<\/p>\n During OutKast\u2019s own acceptance speech, Andr\u00e9 3000 held back tears as he reflected on the group\u2019s humble beginnings in The Dungeon, the iconic basement studio belonging to the family of the late Rico Wade<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cJack [White] said something about little rooms. We started in a little room,\u201d he said while flanked by the entire Dungeon Family. \u201cGreat things start in little rooms.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cWe\u2019re just so happy that Rico Wade saw something in us, he gave us an opportunity to come [and record], and all the sacrifices that were made around us to help us get to this place.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201c[Rico\u2019s family] had to sacrifice their home for us to make music \u2026 and doing nefarious things as well,\u201d he joked. \u201c[Rico\u2019s siblings] had to go to school the next morning and we up bumpim\u2019 [music] and smoking weed \u2019til like six in the morning!\u201d<\/p>\n 3 Stacks also showed love to some of his rap peers for inspiring and influencing OutKast, shouting out Busta Rhymes<\/a>, Missy Elliott<\/a>, Nas<\/a>, Wu-Tang Clan<\/a> and Goodie Mob<\/a> specifically.<\/p>\n Check out all the highlights from OutKast\u2019s \u2014 and hip-hop\u2019s \u2014 special moment below.<\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
