He was released Saturday, Nov. 8, on an $8,000 bond, his lawyer confirmed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn a statement shared with <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>, Green\u2019s lawyers \u2014 Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg, and Zack Findling \u2014 said the musician was \u201cunjustly profiled and unlawfully arrested.\u201d They claimed the arresting officer was part of the Atlanta Police Department\u2019s \u201ccontroversial Crime Suppression Unit \u2014 a group known for its aggressive tactics and emphasis on high arrest numbers rather than genuine public safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe statement continued: \u201cMr. Green was targeted as part of this quota-driven approach, a practice that undermines justice and erodes community trust. We look forward to vigorously challenging this baseless arrest and the clear violations of Mr. Green\u2019s rights in court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe Atlanta Police Department did not immediately return <em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2019s request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tGreen was notably arrested the same day he earned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/grammy-nominations-2026-full-list-1235461536\/\">his first Grammy nomination<\/a>. He was nominated in Best Song Written for Visual Media for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/ryan-coogler-sinners-hip-hop-exploitation-1235352338\/\">\u201cSinners,\u201d which he contributed<\/a> to Ryan Coogler\u2019s smash <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/tv-movies\/tv-movie-reviews\/sinners-michael-b-jordan-ryan-coogler-1235307958\/\">film of the same name<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tBack in May and June, the Fulton County Sheriff\u2019s Office <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/rod-wave-arrested-in-georgia-1235344713\/\">arrested Green<\/a> on numerous charges, including aggravated assault, possessing and aiming a gun at someone, reckless conduct, conspiracy to commit a felony, simple assault, and battery. How he was even charged as a result of this situation is incomprehensible.
