The musician born Katie Crutchfield covered the closing track from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/taylor-swift\/\" id=\"auto-tag_taylor-swift\" data-tag=\"taylor-swift\">Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2018s latest album, leaning into the subtle country twang and storytelling. Crutchfield welcomed a special guest vocalist to the stage to take on Sabrina Carpenter\u2019s featured verse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tLast year, Crutchfield performed the <em>Tortured Poets Department <\/em>deep cut \u201cBut Daddy I Love Him\u201d during an appearance in Leeds Park. She also added one of the singer-songwriter\u2019s tracks to her pre-show playlist while on tour. In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/features\/cover-story\/waxahatchee-tigers-blood-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Pitchfork<\/a>, Crutchfield noted that she discovered the song after a friend sent it to her, asking if she\u2019d had a hand in writing it because of the similarity in style. She hadn\u2019t, but she\u2019s clearly drawn to the music.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-tiktok wp-block-embed-tiktok\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tEarlier this year, Crutchfield released the collaborative album <em>Snopcaps <\/em>with her twin sister, Allison Crutchfield. \u201cThis feels like a classic indie-rock record, minus the pedal steel and other signifiers that rebranded Waxahatchee as a kind of New South country-rock project,\u201d <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-album-reviews\/snocaps-snocaps-review-1235457834\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a> <\/em>wrote in a review of the record. \u201cThere\u2019s certainly no question that Waxahatchee is one of America\u2019s greatest rock bands. Over the weekend, Bowling for Soup shared their version of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yiRccXX5RHs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">\u201cActually Romantic\u201d<\/a> after receiving a similar note about sonic similarities. The band shared that they were sent two different messages saying, \u201cI don\u2019t know if BFS has plans for a cover song anytime soon, but Taylor\u2019s \u2018Actually Romantic\u2019 has you guys written all over it!
