Kid Rock<\/a> filled in for Cody Johnson<\/a> at the Hondo Rodeo Fest in Arizona recently.<\/p>\n While he was onstage, he took the liberty of adding another verse to Johnson’s No.1 hit, ” ‘Till You Can’t”, about slain political activist Charlie Kirk<\/a>.<\/p>\n Rock was standing in for Johnson as he continues to heal from his burst eardrum surgery, and he decided to use the opportunity to remember Kirk.<\/p>\n According to Music Mayhem<\/em><\/a>, Rock sang the first verse of ” ‘Till You Can’t” then paused the song and show.<\/p>\n “Now, a few weeks ago, I woke up alone early on a Sunday morning and had this song stuck in my head,” he told the crowd.<\/p>\n “And in that moment, someone or something spoke to me and told me there was still a verse missing from this song, and to get up and write it down. So I did,” Rock continued.<\/p>\n At that exact moment, Kirk’s face showed up on the screens behind him.” And now, I know exactly who was speaking to me that morning,” Rock said.<\/p>\n Rock then continued, in a quiet, almost whisper-like tone, singing the new, added lyrics.<\/p>\n Rock’s added verse focuses on finding faith.<\/p>\n There\u2019s a book that is sitting in your house somewhere that could use some dusting off \/ There\u2019s a man that died for all our sins \/ hanging from the cross \/ You can give your life to Jesus \/ and he\u2019ll give you a second chance \/ \u2019til you can\u2019t, \u2019til you can\u2019t.<\/em><\/p>\n Kirk spoke about religion just as much as he spoke about politics during his career. He was an evangelical Christian who gave his life to Jesus<\/a> at a young age, and his religious beliefs shaped much of his political worldview.<\/p>\n Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Sept. 10 during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. He was there as part of his American Comeback Tour.<\/p>\n He was just 31 years old.<\/p>\n He is survived by his wife Erika Kirk, who was subsequently named as his successor at the head of his nonprofit Turning Point USA. Jason Aldean<\/a> and his wife Brittany <\/a>were among the most vocal of those, and they also recently helped present<\/a> Erika Kirk with the Charlie Kirk Legacy Award at the 2025 Patriot Awards.<\/p>\n Kid Rock was born in Romeo, Michigan.<\/p>\n An estimated 90,000 people attended Sunday’s (Sept. 21) memorial for political activist Charlie Kirk at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.<\/p>\n Among the notable speakers were President Trump, Vice President Vance, Kirk’s widow Erika, Marco Rubio and Robert F. His childhood home was a 5,660-square-foot luxury home in Michigan, situated on 5.5 acres that includes 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 5-car garage, along with a partially finished walkout and guest house. There’s also a 3 stall horse barn, regulation tennis court and inground pool.
