Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> is gearing up to make her feature film debut; the pop star will produce and star in a new musical movie inspired by Alice in Wonderland<\/em> for Universal Pictures. Inspired by the Lewis Carroll book, the as-yet-untitled film will be written and directed by Lorene Scafaria, best known for directing several episodes of Succession<\/em>\u2014for which she earned two Emmy nominations\u2014and helming the movies Hustlers<\/em> and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World<\/em> as both a director and writer.<\/p>\n While plot details are still being kept under wraps and a release date is not yet in sight, Carpenter\u2019s new movie does list Marc Platt as a co-producer, through his company Marc Platt Productions, as well as Alloy Entertainment\u2019s Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton.<\/p>\n On the strength of her new album Man\u2019s Best Friend<\/em><\/a>, which she released this past September, Carpenter scooped up six nominations<\/a> at the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards<\/a>. One of the biggest nods is her nomination for Song of the Year<\/a> with \u201cManchild<\/a>,\u201d marking her second time in the category following last year\u2019s run<\/a> with \u201cPlease Please Please.\u201d As with last time, Carpenter shares the nomination with her co-writer Jack Antonoff.<\/p>\n Rounding out Carpenter\u2019s Grammy Award nominations this time are Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Man\u2019s Best Friend<\/em>, as well as Record of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best Pop Solo Performance for \u201cManchild.\u201d See the full list of nominations here<\/a>.
