Robyn<\/a> is back. Her first single in seven years, \u201cDopamine<\/a>,\u201d is out now, along with a performance video directed by Marili Andre<\/a>. Watch it below.<\/p>\n Robyn explained the chemical inspirations behind \u201cDopamine\u201d\u00a0in a press release. \u201cEveryone has a phone where they see their heart rate, and we\u2019re learning how to decode our emotions through the hormones and chemical substances in our bodies,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s almost like we don\u2019t even accept that we\u2019re human anymore, like we\u2019re trying to shoot ourselves out of it and explain every single thing\u2014which I think is great, but that\u2019s also why the world is shit, this idea that you can figure out and win life or something. The doubleness of \u2018Dopamine\u2019 is having an emotion that is super real, super strong, intense, enjoyable or painful, and at the same time knowing that this is just a biological process in my body\u2014and then not to choose religion or science. To just accept that they\u2019re there together and to be able to go in between.\u201d<\/p>\n Teased for the past several<\/a> weeks<\/a>, Robyn\u2019s comeback reunites her with longtime collaborator Klas \u00c5hlund, whose work with the Swedish pop star includes four songs on her last album, 2018\u2019s Honey<\/em><\/a>. \u00c5hlund was the first to tease the new music, saying on the podcast Nordmark Pod<\/em><\/a>, in September, \u201cJust finished a new Robyn album that\u2019s coming out. Super exciting! Very proud of it.\u201d<\/p>\n Since Honey<\/em>, Robyn has featured on songs by SG Lewis<\/a>, Sigur R\u00f3s<\/a>\u2019 J\u00f3nsi<\/a>, Smile<\/a>, Neneh Cherry<\/a>, and Jamie xx<\/a>, as well as on the Yung Lean\u2013assisted remix<\/a> of Charli XCX<\/a>\u2019s \u201c360\u201d from Brat and It\u2019s Completely Different but Also Still Brat<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n
