\n\tShaggy<\/a> and Sean Paul<\/a> will headline the Jamaica<\/a> Strong benefit concert next month to raise money for the hurricane-ravaged island nation<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tInner Circle, Ky-Mani Marley, KES the Band, and more Jamaican and Caribbean artists will take the stage at New York\u2019s UBS Arena on Dec. 12 for the event, with all proceeds benefitting hurricane relief efforts.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tThe Jamaican government has teamed with local cultural organizations \u2014 Jammins Events,\u00a0Irie Jam Radio, and\u00a0Roadblock Radio\u00a0\u2014 for Jamaica Strong, which will raise money for Shaggy\u2019s Make A Difference Foundation, Sean Paul\u2019s preferred charity Food for the Poor, the Irie Jam Radio Foundation, and the Jamaican consulate\u2019s relief efforts.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThis is more than a concert \u2014 it\u2019s a movement,\u201d organizer\u00a0George Crooks said in a statement. \u201cEvery ticket purchased directly supports rebuilding lives, homes, and hope in Jamaica.\u201d Tickets go on sale Nov. 14 via Ticketmaster.<\/p>\n \n\tEarlier this month, Shaggy spoke to Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> about the devastation the island suffered in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa<\/a>. \u201cPeople are homeless,\u201d Shaggy said. \u201cThere\u2019s no running water, there\u2019s no electricity, there\u2019s no shelter. They were sleeping on the streets. We came in last night, we gave out water, we gave out food. There are actually bodies trapped in homes that people haven\u2019t been able to clear.\u201d<\/p>\n
