D4vd<\/a> is under investigation in connection with the death<\/a> of Celeste Rivas, according to TMZ<\/a> and NBC4<\/a>. Those reports cite anonymous law enforcement officials who declined to speak on the record; the Houston singer-songwriter born David Anthony Burke has not formally been named a suspect. Police instead hinted that they view\u00a0D4vd as a suspect, suggesting they lack the evidence to implicate him publicly in Rivas\u2019 death. The Los Angeles Police Department told TMZ it is not close to making an arrest.<\/p>\n

Police sources added that they view Rivas\u2019 death as a homicide, according to TMZ, though at present the case is not a murder investigation. Police are awaiting toxicology results from the medical examiner to clarify the circumstances of Rivas\u2019 death.<\/p>\n

D4vd has canceled<\/a> shows and disappeared from the public eye since the 15-year-old girl\u2019s chopped-up, decomposing body was found, in September, in a Tesla registered under his name. TMZ\u2019s law enforcement sources added that the condition of Rivas\u2019 corpse suggests multiple people were involved in its dismemberment.<\/p>\n

Pitchfork has emailed representatives for D4vd and the Los Angeles Police Department for comment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
