\n\tAlmost a month since releasing \u201cMonstruo,\u201d<\/a> the first single off his upcoming sophomore album and his collab with Feid<\/a>, acclaimed Puerto Rican producer Tainy<\/a> finally teams up with Colombian superstar Karol G<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tAfter a decade of parallel careers that never intertwined, the two artists are joing forces with the release of \u201c\u00danica.\u201d The song is an emotional and melancholic dusk-dream that has Karol \u2014 fresh off two Latin Grammy wins, including Song of the Year \u2014 reminiscing about a passionate romance that promised something special, but ended up being fleeting and difficult to forget. <\/p>\n \n\tWhen asked why this long-awaited collaboration didn\u2019t happen sooner, Tainy<\/a> was frank about how it all came down to timing. \u201cIt\u2019s something we\u2019ve talked about quite a bit, and I\u2019ve tried to make it happen several times, but like everything, sometimes our schedules and obligations didn\u2019t align,\u201d he says. \u201cI think things happen when they\u2019re meant to happen, without forcing them, and that\u2019s how it was here. We made time to go to the studio, talk, work, and everything flowed.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tHe adds, \u201cI feel like Karol fits perfectly on the album. \u2018\u00danica\u2019 covers that emotional and sonic aspect I was looking for on the record.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe music video, directed by industry go-to Stillz, was filmed in the hills of Malibu, not too far from Los Angeles where the song itself was recorded. The visuals are less gothic than the previous single, but still imbued with a dramatic and dreamy aesthetic: Open spaces and enclosed hallways mirror the song\u2019s longing, loneliness, and a tinge of resentment.
