Childish Gambino<\/a> has opened up about a series of health problems that have hampered his music career over the last year, including a stroke that he suffered while on tour.<\/p>\n During his performance at Tyler, The Creator<\/a>\u2018s Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles over the weekend, Donald Glover spoke publicly for the first time about his aforementioned stroke, as well as being diagnosed with a heart issue and suffering a broken foot.<\/p>\n \u201cOkay, so\u2026 I was doing this world tour and having lots of fun. Really loved seeing you guys out there,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I had a really bad pain in my head in Louisiana, and I did the show anyway. I couldn\u2019t really see well. So when we went to Houston, I went to the hospital and the doctor was like, \u2018You had a stroke.’\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd the first thing I thought was like, \u2018Oh\u2026 here I am still copying Jamie Foxx<\/a>,’\u201d Glover joked, referencing the actor and comedian\u2019s highly publicized health scare in 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s really like the second thing \u2014 the first thing was, \u2018I\u2019m letting everybody down.\u2019 I know it\u2019s not true, but I\u2019ve broken my foot. I\u2019ve always promised Ireland I\u2019m gonna be there and I still haven\u2019t been.\u201d<\/p>\n Gambino then revealed that doctors \u201cfound a hole in my heart,\u201d requiring him to undergo two surgeries, before reflecting on his life-threatening setbacks.<\/p>\n \u201cThey say everybody has two lives and the second life starts when you realize you have one,\u201d he told the crowd. \u201cYou got one life, guys. And I gotta be honest, the life I\u2019ve lived with you guys has been such a blessing. I love seeing and performing for you guys.\u201d<\/p>\n Childish Gambino reveals that he had a stroke and a hole was found in his heart and is why he had to stop his tour pic.twitter.com\/YxeQYBWDBA<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Dat (@DatDaDatty) November 23, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n In September 2024, Childish Gambino was forced to cancel the remainder of his New World Tour<\/a> after just a few weeks, saying on X (formerly Twitter) that he had to \u201cfocus on my physical health for a few weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cRedbone\u201d hitmaker had previously canceled a tour stop in Connecticut \u201cdue to production issues\u201d and called off a concert in Houston \u201cdue to illness.\u201d<\/p>\n The tour, which came in support of his album Bando Stone and the New World<\/a><\/em>, was supposed to travel across North America, Europe and Australasia between August 11, 2024 and February 11, 2025.<\/p>\n Gambino\u2019s Cam Flog Gnaw set was his first performance since his tour was scrapped.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n
