Nas<\/a> and DJ Premier<\/a> have finally announced the title and release date for their long-teased collaborative album: Light-Years<\/em><\/a> is out December 12 via Mass Appeal<\/a>. See the album cover\u2014featuring a photograph by Danny Hastings<\/a> and art direction by Michael Lukowski<\/a>\u2014below.<\/p>\n Nas and DJ Premier have worked together for the bulk of their careers, dating back to the Queens rapper\u2019s iconic 1994 debut, Illmatic<\/em><\/a>. The artists reunited last year for \u201cDefine My Name<\/a>\u201d and began to tease an album.<\/p>\n Light-Years<\/em> caps Mass Appeal\u2019s yearlong celebration of New York hip-hop that has included new albums from Slick Rick<\/a>, Raekwon<\/a>, Ghostface Killah<\/a>, Mobb Deep<\/a>, the late Big L<\/a>, and De La Soul<\/a>.<\/p>\n Nas shared his latest studio album, Magic 3<\/em><\/a>, in September 2023.
