With Thanksgiving right around the corner and country music\u2019s biggest artists taking some time off to regroup, I asked Cody Johnson<\/a> if he would rather have Thanksgiving dinner at Luke Combs<\/a>\u2019 place or Lainey Wilson<\/a>\u2019s house, and his answer kind of surprised me.<\/p>\n Johnson was a guest on Taste of Country Nights<\/em><\/a>\u00a0when I presented the question.<\/p>\n The \u201cDirt Cheap\u201d singer said, \u201cProbably Luke,\u201d as he got a good belly chuckle.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m just saying, man, I\u2019ve ate with the man, and he has good taste in food, so he\u2019d probably pay someone to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n Johnson and I joked that Combs might call up Honey Baked Ham and place a full Thanksgiving Day order so that the food would surely be good.<\/p>\n Not to mention the fact that Combs\u2018 wife is pregnant<\/a> and they are all still stuck in a two-bedroom house until their home is complete next year.<\/p>\n So, seeing Combs with his chef hat on in the kitchen, carving a turkey for Johnson is probably not likely.<\/p>\n I ran out of time before I got to ask him why he would not want to have Thanksgiving dinner at Wilson\u2018s house.<\/p>\n I don\u2019t know for sure, but Wilson likely could whip up a nice dish, and her fianc\u00e9 Devlin “Duck” Hodges could bring the duck meat to the table.<\/p>\n Johnson is taking it easy for the rest of 2025 as he recovers<\/a> from his eardrum injury and the subsequent surgery.<\/p>\n Cody Johnson should be back in the saddle and ready to go by 2026.<\/p>\n Cody Johnson has now won a total of 5 CMA Awards after picking up the win<\/a> for Male Vocalist of the Year at the 59th CMA Awards.<\/p>\n We knew Blake Shelton would miss the CMA Awards, and weren’t surprised to not see Morgan Wallen.
