{"id":52877,"date":"2025-12-01T12:57:32","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T12:57:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/01\/nikki-sixx-decries-aging-rockers-still-trying-to-act-25\/"},"modified":"2025-12-01T12:57:32","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T12:57:32","slug":"nikki-sixx-decries-aging-rockers-still-trying-to-act-25","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/01\/nikki-sixx-decries-aging-rockers-still-trying-to-act-25\/","title":{"rendered":"Nikki Sixx Decries Aging Rockers &#8216;Still Trying to Act 25&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/nikki-sixx\">Nikki Sixx<\/a> believes older rockers should embrace their age, rather than trying to act like they\u2019re still young.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/motley-crue\">Motley Crue<\/a> bassist \u2013 who turns 67 on Dec. 11 \u2013 explained his viewpoint during a recent conversation with <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/7nLlnPKEEQw?si=fsoUhVB47-Y7B2w_\" target=\"_blank\">WTHR 13 News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Life changes, man. It&#8217;s cool that it changes,\u201d Sixx noted. \u201cThe thing that I don&#8217;t like is when I see artists that are still trying to act 25 and they&#8217;re 65. I don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s cool for the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the bassist sees it, getting older is a necessary part of life \u2013 hanging onto the past would be inauthentic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Evolution is evolution,\u201d Sixx declared. \u201cWe all age, we all change, we have different interests, and Motley Crue seems to have ridden that wave pretty good, just letting it be real.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/motley-crue-women\/\">The Women of Motley Crue: 91 Ladies Linked With the Band<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;You evolve as a person, as a lyricist,\u201d he continued. \u201cMy evolution as a lyricist, it goes from the rawest of the raw to the most heartfelt. And that&#8217;s just as I grew as a man and my interests evolved. That changes the lyrics, but then that changes the idea of the song. The lyrics to \u2018Home Sweet Home\u2019 are way different than the lyrics to \u2018Shout at the Devil.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And so as we go, we just keep evolving. And you might stumble upon some different ways of writing,\u201d he explained. \u201cI guess you just keep kind of chipping away at the stone, so to speak.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Motley Crue Doesn&#8217;t Mind Pissing People Off<\/h3>\n<p>Elsewhere in the conversation, Sixx addressed Motley Crue\u2019s\u00a0history\u00a0as a polarizing band.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Like us or hate us, one thing about Motley Crue is we have so many people that we just really piss them off, and other people that they say we&#8217;ve changed their lives,\u201d the bassist admitted. &#8220;So I guess if you&#8217;re gonna operate the way we operate and say it and do it the way you want to do it, not like anybody else, you&#8217;re gonna probably draw both extremes of types of reactions.
