\n\tToosii<\/a> is heading to the gridiron. On Tuesday, the\u00a0multi-platinum\u00a0rapper announced that he\u2019s committed to playing football at Syracuse University.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCOMMITTED,\u201d wrote Toosii, whose real name is Nau\u2019Jour Grainger, on social media. \u201cFor every kid who ever had a dream, make it reality. God\u2019s will is the way and no one can stop it not even the devil. I wanna thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for even giving me the strength to chase what I believed when so many people told me I couldn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe artist posted the caption alongside photos of himself in a No. 2 Orange football uniform and thanked his supporters, adding, \u201cit never go unnoticed.\u201d Toosii, who was born in Syracuse, New York, said he moved to North Carolina at age 12 and hasn\u2019t been back since. \u201cWhen Coach Fran [Brown] called, I knew it was a sign from God,\u201d said the rapper. \u201cSo with that being said, Cuse I\u2019m coming home.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA source confirmed Toosii\u2019s commitment to The Associated Press<\/a><\/em>. When reached for comment, a representative for Syracuse University Athletics told Rolling Stone<\/em> in a statement that NCAA rules prohibit the school from \u201ccommenting on prospective student-athletes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2021, Toosii led\u00a0Rolling Stone<\/em>\u2018s\u00a0Breakthrough 25 chart<\/a>\u00a0ranking artists who saw the greatest gains each month in audio streams that year. His debut album, Poetic Pain<\/em>, was released in 2020.
