The band and their very special guests closed out their recent Brooklyn show with “Killing In the Name”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n\tAt a recent concert, Portugal. The Man<\/a> enlisted two maestros of musical comedy, \u201cWeird Al\u201d Yankovic<\/a> and the Lonely Island\u2019s<\/a> Jorma Taccone<\/a>, for a very sincere \u2014 though obviously still very fun \u2014 cover of Rage Against the Machine\u2019s \u201cKilling In the Name.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tThe cover came at the end of Portugal. The Man<\/a>\u2019s show in Brooklyn on Tuesday (Dec. 2), with both Yankovic and Taccone assisting on lead vocals. The performance had everything you\u2019d want from an impromptu Rage cover \u2014 heavy riffs, loud shouting, mosh pit going crazy, and Taccone dressed up as Pee Wee Herman for some reason.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAs Portugal. The Man captioned a clip of the performance shared on TikTok: \u201cKilling in the Name of but make it absolute chaos.\u201d (You can check out a fan-shot video of the full performance here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Rage cover was actually one of two songs Yankovic did that night, with the musician also joining Portugal. The Man for a rendition of their hit, \u201cLive in the Moment.\u201d Yankovic and the band first met in 2013 and have been close ever since. In 2018, Portugal. The Man commissioned some vintage \u201cWeird Al\u201d polka remixes for \u201cFeel It Still\u201d and \u201cLive in the Moment.\u201d And in 2020, to mark Indigenous Peoples Day, they partnered for a new single, \u201cWho\u2019s Gonna Stop Me.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tFor Lonely Island fans and members of the Quaid Army<\/a> (righteous kill), Taccone\u2019s presence on stage is also particularly notable, if not flat-out remarkable. The comedian, actor, and filmmaker looked impressively mobile for someone who fell off a 20-foot ladder<\/a> in September and completely destroyed his pelvis. That\u2019s not to say Taccone was throwing himself around, but he looked comfortable bouncing around in his Pee Wee Herman fit.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
