Last year, the streaming platform\u2019s year-end data dump feature, where Spotify users are forced to contend with what music they actually listened to, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/spotify-wrapped-2024-disappointing-1235192170\/\">poorly received<\/a> for its underwhelming data points and lackluster presentation. But, thankfully, the 2025 edition far outshines last year\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThis year, Spotify Wrapped offered nearly a dozen new features that users online already can\u2019t get enough of. From the return of Top Genres to the unique joy of Listening Age, Spotify made Wrapped exciting again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tPeople are loving \u2014 or at least getting a kick out of \u2014\u00a0 being told how old they <em>really<\/em> are with Wrapped\u2019s Listening Age feature. The special one-off feature examines release years from an individual\u2019s most listened to songs and compares it with other users in the same age group to determine someone\u2019s Listening Age. The result has been a wild mix of teenagers to octogenarians. The ages it calculated for celebrities like <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PopBase\/status\/1996528641749213489?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Charli XCX<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/dailylaufeylin\/status\/1996210233644142807?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Laufey<\/a> were 75 and 85, respectively.<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Grimezsz\/status\/1996260795458674727?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"> Grimes<\/a> got a whooping 92 years old.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content-image \/\/  \">\n<figure class=\"o-figure   size-large alignnone lrv-u-max-width-100p\" style=\"width:1024px\">\n<div class=\"c-lazy-image  lrv-u-border-a-2\">\n<div class=\"lrv-a-crop-16x9\" style=\"padding-bottom:calc((576\/1024)*100%);\">\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div><figcaption class=\"c-figcaption  lrv-u-flex lrv-u-flex-direction-column lrv-u-align-items-center\">\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAnother special one-off was <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.spotify.com\/2025-12-03\/wrapped-clubs-overview\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Clubs<\/a>, which categorizes listeners into one of six clubs and is, essentially, based on vibes. \u201cYour Club captures the emotional qualities of your year in music. That includes the moods, genres, and musical terms that defined what you listened to most,\u201d a Spotify release reads. It\u2019s kind of similar to 2024\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.spotify.com\/2024-12-04\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-your-music-evolution\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Music Evolution<\/a>, but it seems a lot of thought was put into the description of each Club, which range from Archivist to Broadcaster.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tUsers online are also <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/holltoleratesit\/status\/1996205370809942062?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">sharing<\/a> the most in-depth files from their <a rel=\"nofollow\" data-id=\"https:\/\/newsroom.spotify.com\/2025-12-03\/how-your-wrapped-is-made\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.spotify.com\/2025-12-03\/how-your-wrapped-is-made\/\" target=\"_blank\">Listening Archive<\/a>, a new revealing feature that sums up findings from a standout listening day. The feature is powered by AI, but that hasn\u2019t stopped people from reveling in the information.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn addition to the 2025 specific features, Spotify also added fun new ways to present users\u2019 Top Songs and Top Artists: The former is shared with a quiz where users guess their top song and the latter is delivered with a visual \u201crace\u201d of each artist. It also seems Spotify Wrapped listened to two major complaints from users following last year\u2019s debacle: bring back Top Genres and give us Top Albums. Spotify saw 200 million engaged users and 500 million shares in the first 24 hours since Wrapped launched on Dec. 3. The influx marks a 19 percent increase from 2024 and marks Spotify Wrapped\u2019s \u201cbiggest launch ever,\u201d according to a press release from Spotify. Later that month, Ek announced he was stepping down as Spotify\u2019s CEO and would serve as the company\u2019s executive chairman. That same month, Spotify <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/spotify-not-banning-ai-music-new-guidelines-1235434946\/\">announced<\/a> that the platform would allow AI-powered bands and artists to use the service.
