With dozens of homespun projects, some dating back over a decade, Nate Amos\u2019 Bandcamp<\/a> back catalog presents a daunting prospect. For his second proper LP as This Is Lorelei<\/a>, Amos\u2014also half of Water From Your Eyes<\/a>\u2014combed through the archives and re-recorded 10 songs that span yacht rock (\u201cI Can\u2019t Fall,\u201d \u201cThis is a Joke\u201d), power pop (\u201cDreams Away,\u201d \u201cName the Band\u201d), and more experimental directions (\u201cMouth Man\u201d). As Sue Park writes in Pitchfork\u2019s review<\/a>, \u201cwhat\u2019s most impressive about Holo Boy<\/em> is how breezy and self-assured it sounds. Few of these songs were intended to live together originally, but it still feels like Amos is coasting in a sweet spot; his sense of humor and ear for hooks shine through.\u201d<\/p>\n Listen on Apple Music<\/a> Fred Again..<\/a> calls USB<\/em> his \u201cinfinite\u201d album. Dating back to 2022, the project once comprised only eight tracks but now numbers more than 30. USB002<\/em>, the second official iteration, adds some names both predictable (Caribou<\/a>, Floating Points<\/a>) and totally out of left field (Danny Brown<\/a>, Amyl and the Sniffers<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
