Mariah Carey<\/a>\u2019s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d is now the longest-running No. 1 song in U.S. chart history. The 1994 modern Christmas classic has spent a cumulative 20 weeks atop the Billboard<\/em> Hot 100, breaking the previous record of 19 weeks shared by Shaboozey<\/a>\u2019s \u201cA Bar Song (Tipsy)<\/a>\u201d and Lil Nas X<\/a> and Billy Ray Cyrus\u2019 \u201cOld Town Road<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n First appearing on Carey\u2019s Merry Christmas<\/em><\/a> album, \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d was originally ineligible for the Hot 100 because it was not released as a commercial single. Following a rules change, the song made its debut on the singles chart in 2000. \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You\u201d first hit No. 1<\/a> for two weeks in 2019\u2014the longest a song had ever taken to do so\u2014and has consistently topped the chart every year since.<\/p>\n For more than two decades, Carey\u2019s Boyz II Men duet \u201cOne Sweet Day,\u201d from her 1995 album Daydream<\/em><\/a>, held the longest run atop the Billboard<\/em> Hot 100. Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi\u2019s \u201cDespacito\u201d remix, featuring Justin Bieber, tied the record in 2017, and \u201cOld Town Road\u201d finally surpassed it in 2019.<\/p>\n Carey shared her latest album, Here for It All<\/em><\/a>, earlier this year. She received the Video Vanguard Award at the 2025 MTV VMAs<\/a> and is set to be honored<\/a> as MusiCares\u2019 2026 Person of the Year with a tribute concert at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Friday, January 30\u2014two days before next year\u2019s Grammy Awards<\/a>.
