On Wednesday afternoon, the musician posted a statement to Instagram addressing the Boston incident, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/janes-addiction-sue-perry-farrell-fight-1235386779\/\">spawned a lawsuit<\/a> from the band over the summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cI\u2019d like to address what happened on stage last year. I\u2019ve reflected on it and know I didn\u2019t handle myself the way I should have. I apologize to our patrons and my bandmates for losing my temper and for disrupting the show,\u201d Farrell wrote in the post, which was shared as well by Jane\u2019s Addiction. \u201cJane\u2019s Addiction has been at the center of my life for decades. The band, the songs, the patrons, and the impact that we\u2019ve had on music and culture mean more to me than any words I could ever possibly write down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tFarrell continued: \u201cMy aim has always been to give our audience the best possible show, something real, honest and positive. In Boston, we fell short of that, and I\u2019m truly sorry to everyone who was impacted.\u201d He ended the post by thanking fans for their \u201ccontinued love and support.\u201d <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe new statement comes more than a year after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/janes-addiction-concert-perry-farrell-punches-dave-navarro-1235102389\/\">September 2024 onstage fight<\/a>\u00a0between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/dave-navarro\/\">Dave Navarro<\/a> and Farrell that resulted in the cancellation of their reunion tour and the dissolution of the band. Members Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins sued Farrell earlier this year, accusing him of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract. The suit alleged that the group lost over $10 million as a result of the tour\u2019s cancellation and cessation of all band activities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tFarrell <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/perry-farrell-janes-addiction-lawsuit-dave-navarro-1235425487\/\">responded in September<\/a> and listed 35 affirmative defenses, including claims that Navarro has \u201cunclean hands,\u201d \u201cfails to state facts sufficient to constitute a cause of action against,\u201d and \u201cfailed to exercise reasonable care and diligence to mitigate [the] alleged claims and damages.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe group has given very few interviews over the last year, but Navarro spoke to\u00a0<em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guitarplayer.com\/guitarists\/theres-no-chance-to-ever-play-together-again-dave-navarro-unloads-about-janes-addiction-and-the-shocking-night-when-perry-farrell-attacked-him-onstage\">Guitar Player<\/a><\/em>\u00a0in May.
