\n\tMiley Cyrus<\/a> has detailed how she came to write \u201cDream as One<\/a>,\u201d her Golden Globe-nominated ballad that appears during the end credits of her Disney \u201clegend-in-law\u201d James Cameron\u2019s Avatar: Fire and Ash<\/a><\/em>, which opened this weekend. She also hinted at how she plans to mark the upcoming 20th anniversary<\/a> of her own Disney show\u2019s Hannah Montana<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tIn a new interview with Variety<\/a><\/em> conducted following the world premiere of Avatar<\/a>: Fire and Ash<\/em> in Los Angeles, Cyrus shared the story of how her song \u201cDream as One\u201d ended up in Cameron\u2019s film. She said that while she was backstage last summer at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, the director was ahead of her in line, along with Jamie Lee Curtis and Harrison Ford.<\/p>\n \n\tFirst, Curtis tapped Cyrus for the end credits to The Last Showgirl<\/em>, which led to the Golden Globe-nominated \u201cBeautiful That Way<\/a>.\u201d Then, Cyrus \u2014 a fan of the Avatar<\/em> franchise \u2014 took a chance for a bucket-list opportunity and asked Cameron about how things were going on Fire and Ice<\/em>. Turned out, Cameron had already discussed Cyrus with Avatar <\/em>composer Simon Franglen and the idea of them working together.<\/p>\n \n\tCameron came up with the song\u2019s name, reflecting the film\u2019s finale. Cyrus and collaborators Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt took it from there. \u201cComing in at the end was actually really helpful, because, when you\u2019ve worked on something for like 20 years, you get so close to it that it\u2019s hard to see it from that outside perspective,\u201d Cyrus said. \u201cI\u2019m just writing it like someone who loves Avatar<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tAs for what her plans are for marking the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana<\/em> in spring 2026, she told the outlet she hopes to bring an element from Avatar<\/em> into her approach to the occasion as she considers how she might commemorate it.<\/p>\n
