\n\tNicki Minaj<\/a> made a surprise appearance at Turning Point USA<\/a>\u2019s AmericaFest on Sunday in Phoenix alongside Erika Kirk<\/a>, the widow of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk and the organization\u2019s CEO<\/a>. The pair arrived onstage to Minaj\u2019s song \u201cSuper Bass,\u201d entering the venue holding hands. They hugged before a Q&A session, which involved Minaj fawning over President Donald Trump<\/a> and Vice President J.D. Vance<\/a>. \u201cI love both of them,\u201d she said during the conversation.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs a clip from Fox News<\/a> relayed, Kirk welcomed Minaj, who responded, \u201cI\u2019m honored to be here, thank you for having me.\u201d The Q&A opened with Kirk asking Minaj to read some of her tweets criticizing California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat. Kirk described Minaj\u2019s tweets as \u201camazing and they are so funny.\u201d Recently, Minaj has attacked Newsom on social media as he considers a 2028 presidential run, and she criticized him for expressing support for transgender children.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn one tweet, Minaj wrote that Newsom will be in a race that \u201cyou will not win,\u201d in another she rails on him for his support of transgender children. \u201cImagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids,\u201d she read her tweet from Dec. 12<\/a> aloud on Sunday. \u201cHaha. Not even a trans ADULT would run on that. Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier in December, Newsom appeared on The Ezra Klein Show<\/a><\/em>, where he told the host that he supports the trans community, despite having suggested it was unfair for transgender athletes to compete in women\u2019s sports. \u201cI want to see trans kids,\u201d he said via USA Today<\/a><\/em>. \u201cI have a trans godson. There\u2019s no governor that signed more pro-trans legislation than I have, and no one\u2019s been a stronger advocate for the LGBTQ [community].\u201d As for his stance when it comes to sports, he argued, \u201cYou have to accommodate the reality of those whose rights are being taken away as we advance the rights of the trans community, in terms of the fairness of athletic competition. That\u2019s not a bigoted position.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Sunday at AmericaFest, Kirk invited Minaj to express what she\u2019d like to say to Newsom now. Referring to him as \u201cNewscum,\u201d the derogatory term Trump also uses to refer to the governor, Minaj said, \u201cWe don\u2019t have a problem cleaning up the scum if we have to, please tread lightly \u2014 that\u2019s what I\u2019d say to Gavie poo.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe then went on to praise Trump and Vance. \u201cI have the utmost respect and admiration for our president,\u201d she said. \u201cHe has, I don\u2019t know if he even knows this, but he\u2019s given so many people hope that there\u2019s a chance to beat the bad guys and to win, and to do it with your head held high and your integrity intact.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe added that she found Trump and Vance to be relatable. \u201cI can relate to them when I hear them speak, I know that they\u2019re one of us,\u201d she said. She added, \u201cThey haven\u2019t lost touch of the world. You know, they\u2019re still connected to the world. And what\u2019s happening in the world, with the younger people and older people, with the richer people and not so rich people \u2014 they have the ability to still connect and be real and make us feel proud to be American.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMinaj\u2019s apparent love of Trump and his administration appears mutual. Earlier this month, Vance weighed in on the Nicki Minaj and Cardi B rap feud, which has been\u00a0largely dormant since October<\/a>, writing \u201cNicki>Cardi\u201d in response to a since-deleted post from Minaj that read, \u201cVance > Rants.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMinaj has also boosted social media posts featuring Trump with Elon Musk, as well as a video highlighting Trump\u2019s accomplishments since he begun his second term. More recently, Minaj\u2019s appearance<\/a> at the United Nations Headquarters, in which she made misleading claims<\/a> of extremism against Nigerian Christians, was reportedly facilitated by Trump\u2018s adviser, Alex Bruesewitz.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
