That\u2019s how much Vinnie Vincent, the guitarist who replaced Ace Frehley in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/kiss\/\" id=\"auto-tag_kiss\" data-tag=\"kiss\">Kiss<\/a> from 1982 to \u201984, is charging for \u201cRide the Serpent,\u201d the first Vinnie Vincent Invasion release in decades, and even hardcore Kiss Army vets are questioning the price tag to the point that Vincent has had to defend it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn what appear to be now-deleted exchanges with fans on social media, several publications including <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.loudersound.com\/bands-artists\/vinnie-vincent-defends-price-ride-the-serpent\">Classic Rock<\/a><\/em>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2483753\/former-kiss-guitarist-defends-225-single\/news\"><em>Stereogum<\/em><\/a>, and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/bravewords.com\/news\/vinnie-vincent-talks-new-single-ride-the-serpent-this-one-song-is-worth-more-than-most-entire-albums\/\"><em>Brave Words<\/em><\/a> report that Vincent said the following: \u201cIf you like what I do, then support the artist. You bitch because it\u2019s one song? This one song is worth more than most entire albums. Consider yourself lucky that it\u2019s only $200, and that it\u2019s autographed yet. It was originally $300, but with the economy suffering as it is, I made it $200. If you don\u2019t like it\u2026 That\u2019s your problem, not mine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tVincent is releasing the CD, which bears the classic <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.edocpublish.com\/resources-2\/specifications\/cd-logos\/\">\u201cCompact Disc Digital Audio\u201d<\/a> logo printed right on it, in a limited edition of 1,000 copies. It\u2019s considered an \u201cextended play\u201d from Vinnie Vincent Invasion\u2019s upcoming <em>Judgment Day Guitarmageddon <\/em>album. The $225 price tag includes a $25 shipping fee. He\u2019s also charging $300 for \u201cInternational Orders\u201d of the CD. The release is Vincent\u2019s first new music since he released the <em>Euphoria <\/em>EP in 1996.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cIf the fan support is there, this is what to expect the price will be for these private recording collection pieces,\u201d Vincent reportedly told fans. \u201cThere is a bank vault of recordings I have been preparing for release. The time is almost here. I understand the bitching, the moaning, the whining about price, but you must also understand that my situation is such that my music is so desired that it will be targeted and taken from me immediately, which I cannot\/will not allow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/reel\/1296355399203343\/?comment_id=751413227987845&amp;reply_comment_id=858096793734642&amp;__cft__%5b0%5d=AZY3VSQJZMmluywOHv5HdQqSwRcqhJV0g4kWcjt0nsby0sxbxx7Srww4HJQtV0Cnl2Ba3lCPl0x3mNtEOcK23YA3mnTJYPy5qGWWTW2eFGgt_AjB7849vcpSIAgcZRGVfIKgiXPYMwVWRJC7ao2Ddxnm11Q0EtEec1292lhiWgRZLHd_S_2yhNbJiu6FTfL2-Zk&amp;__tn__=R%5d-R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Facebook comment<\/a>, Vincent said he may not release <em>Guitarmageddon <\/em>at all. \u201cThe magic of VINNIE VINCENT INVASION is escapism,\u201d he wrote. \u201cGUITARMAGEDDON is escapism on steroids. So it comes down to this; if the fan support is not there which it does not appear to be, this record will not be released. Am I fine with that? Absolutely. 100%. After Frehley parted ways with the band, he played on their <em>Lick It Up<\/em> album in 1983. He co-wrote several of the album\u2019s songs, including the hit title track. He left the band in 1984 and formed the Vinnie Vincent Invasion. After the release of <em>Euphoria<\/em>, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/the-long-kiss-goodbye-the-search-for-vinnie-vincent-187427\/\">kept a low profile<\/a> until making an appearance at the 2018 Atlanta Kiss Expo.
