2025 has seen the loss of a number of key figures in both rock ‘n’ roll, and the greater tapestry of entertainment history.<\/p>\n
On the musical side of things, pioneering people like Brian Wilson<\/a>, Sly Stone<\/a>, David Johansen<\/a>,\u00a0Marianne Faithfull <\/a>and Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> passed away.<\/p>\n “Brian Wilson, my friend, my classmate, my football teammate, my Beach Boy<\/a> bandmate and my brother in spirit,” Al Jardine said in a statement. “I will always feel blessed that you were in our lives for as long as you were. … You were a humble giant who always made me laugh and we will celebrate your music forever.”<\/p>\n “I am so saddened to hear of the death of Marianne Faithfull. She was so much part of my life for so long,” Mick Jagger<\/a> said following the British singer’s death. “She was a wonderful friend, a beautiful singer and a great actress. She will always be remembered.”<\/p>\n “He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods \u2014 a true legend,”\u00a0Elton John<\/a>\u00a0said of Osbourne\u00a0said on Instagram<\/a>. “He was also one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. I will miss him dearly. To Sharon<\/a> [Ozzy’s wife] and the family, I send my condolences and love.”<\/p>\n In the world of film and television, director David Lynch died<\/a> at the age of 78.
