It\u2019ll be the riff genius\u2019 third solo release of his career, following 2000\u2019s <em>Iommi<\/em> and 2005\u2019s <em>Fused<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking from his studio in a YouTube video (embedded below), Iommi reflected on the high points of the past year, including the reissue of Sabbath\u2019s maligned <a href=\"https:\/\/store.ultimateclassicrock.com\/products\/black-sabbath-the-eternal-idol\"><em>Eternal Idol<\/em> <\/a>album, and his appearance on a <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/robbie-williams\/\">Robbie Williams<\/a> single.<\/p>\n<p>He also, as might be expected, mentioned the lowest point of 2025 \u2013 the <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/ozzy-osbourne-dies\/\">death<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/ozzy-osbourne\/\">Ozzy Osbourne<\/a> following <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/black-sabbath-final-concert\/\">Sabbath\u2019s final show<\/a> in July.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tony-iommi-reflects-ozzy-osbourne\/\">Tony Iommi Says Ozzy Osbourne Held Out to Play Final Show<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Iommi said: \u201c2025 for me started off really well\u2026<em> Eternal Idol<\/em> came out, and shortly after that I was asked\u2026 to play on a track with Robbie. [To] which, of course, I said, \u2018Yes, that would be great!\u2019 As far as I was concerned it was going to be an album track, but then <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tony-iommi-robbie-williams-rocket\/\">Robbie released it as a single<\/a>, which is even better. \u2026 It was really good fun for me to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He described being presented with the freedom of the city honor by his hometown of Birmingham as \u201camazing,\u201d adding: \u201cI never thought we\u2019d get that.\u201d He noted that celebrations of the band\u2019s legacy meant that \u201c\u201cBirmingham sort of became Sabbath city\u201d and that it was \u201creally good\u201d to see his original bandmates \u2013 including bassist <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/geezer-butler\/\">Geezer Butler<\/a> and drummer <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/tags\/bill-ward\/\">Bill Ward<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 sharing the honor.<\/p>\n<p>Iommi said of the group\u2019s Back to the Beginning swan song: \u201cThe amount of bands that turned up to support Sabbath was amazing\u2026 It\u2019s just unfortunate and sad that Ozzy passed away a couple of weeks after that. May he rest in peace.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>What Tony Iommi Thinks Of the Black Sabbath Ballet<\/h3>\n<p>He went on to praise the launch of a limited-edition Iommi guitar amp and the release of a signature guitar pickup, followed by the second run of the <a href=\"https:\/\/ultimateclassicrock.com\/black-sabbath-ballet-tony-iommi\/\">Black Sabbath ballet<\/a>, which went \u201camazingly well\u201d and featured Iommi himself at several performances. \u201cThey\u2019re so amazing, those dancers, choreographers and all that, and I\u2019ll take my hat off to them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Thanking supporters for helping raise \u00a353,000 (approx. $71,000) for a cancer hospital via the raffling of a guitar, Iommi flagged the upcoming launch of a Gibson documentary about his career.<\/p>\n<p>Then he added: \u201cAnd in 2026 I shall have \u2013 definitely, definitely \u2013 my solo album out. I\u2019m really looking forward to that.
