Singer nixes shows in Rancho Mirage and San Diego “due to an adverse reaction to a prescription medication”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n\tMorrissey<\/a> kicked off the new year on the same note as he closed out 2025: By canceling concerts at the last minute.<\/p>\n \n\tThe singer \u2014 who nixed Mexico shows<\/a> and an entire South American tour<\/a> in November due to \u201cextreme exhaustion\u201d \u2014 was scheduled to perform Saturday night in Rancho Mirage, California. However, in a statement posted on the Morrissey-Solo website<\/a>, that gig has been postponed \u201cdue to an adverse reaction to a prescription medication.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tFans were informed they should \u201chold onto your tickets as they will be honored for a rescheduled date.\u201d However, concertgoers for Morrissey\u2019s Jan. 6 show in San Diego weren\u2019t so lucky as that concert was canceled outright, according to organizers.<\/p>\n \n\tThe San Diego Civic Theatre posted on social media that the Jan. 6 concert \u2014 which itself was rescheduled from a previously postponed May 1, 2025 gig \u2014 was \u201ccanceled,\u201d and that \u201crefunds are available at point of purchase.\u201d It\u2019s unclear whether the San Diego cancelation is due to the adverse prescription medication reaction.<\/p>\n \n\tMorrissey is tentatively slated to return to the stage on January 10 in San Antonio. After that, the singer has five more U.S. dates through January 22 before embarking on a European tour in February; a Jan. 25 gig in the Dominican Republic was previously canceled in late-December.<\/p>\n
