Olivia Rodrigo<\/a> has marked the fifth anniversary of her post-Disney debut \u201cDrivers License\u201d by enlisting David Byrne<\/a> to record a cover. Check it out below. A 7″ vinyl single<\/a>, out April 3, will pair the cover with Rodrigo and Byrne\u2019s version of Talking Heads<\/a>\u2019\u00a0\u201cBurning Down the House,\u201d recorded\u00a0at the 2025 Governors Ball.<\/p>\n This is the first in a series of covers that will lead up to the anniversary of Sour<\/em><\/a> in June, a press release notes. She wrote<\/a> on social media today, \u201cWe\u2019re starting off insanely strong with an incredible reworking of \u2018drivers license\u2019 from one of my all-time heroes, David Byrne. David is nothing short of a legend and I actually cried when I heard his version of this song.\u201d Rodrigo had teased some sort of celebration of the song\u2014originally released in January 2021\u2014by posting a license renewal application on her website this week.<\/p>\n Today\u2019s release may be a throwback, but Rodrigo spent much of last year hinting that 2026 would herald her next phase. Back in October, she told Nylon<\/em><\/a> that she was \u201chaving a lot of fun dreaming things up\u201d for what may still be a Guts<\/em><\/a> follow-up this year.<\/p>\n
