\n\tLast May, pop fans and pope fans united in the shared thrill of playing Where\u2019s Waldo: Harry Styles Edition<\/a><\/em> when fans spotted the singer outside of Saint Peter\u2019s Basilica to welcome the papacy of Leo XIV. Now, with a new album<\/a> to promote, the singer is finally explaining why he was there.<\/p>\n \n\tIt turns out, Styles was just getting his hair styled in Italy that day, according to a new interview he gave BBC Radio 1<\/a> on Friday. \u201cIt happened [when] I was getting a haircut in Rome, and then I just heard all these people start shouting: \u2018Habemus papam, habemus papam\u2019<\/em> [\u2018We have a pope\u2019], and people just running down the street.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cSo the guy cutting my hair, stopped cutting my hair, and he was like: \u2018Habemus papam.<\/em> There\u2019s a new pope. There\u2019s a new pope.\u2019 So then we finished up, and then I was like: \u2018Oh, I\u2019m like, five minutes\u2019 walk [from there]\u2019, so I walked over there.\u201d Stating the obvious, he added, \u201cIt was wild.\u201d He didn\u2019t mention the \u201cTechno is my boyfriend\u201d hat he was wearing or why he was wearing a hat after a haircut, but hey, there was a new pope, so who cares.<\/p>\n \n\tIn the same interview, Styles discussed the title of his upcoming fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally,<\/em> according to The Independent<\/a><\/em>, joking that he\u2019d almost titled it, Drink Water All the Time, but You Have to Pee Occasionally<\/em>. In another Friday interview, this time with John Mayer, he stood pedantically by the real title\u2019s proper punctuation. \u201cIt\u2019s a very important comma,\u201d he said. He even voiced out the words \u201cdisco\u201d and \u201coccasionally\u201d with a pregnant pause between them. \u201cI think it\u2019s like\u2026 the comma is correct,\u201d he reinforced.<\/p>\n \n\tStyles also told Mayer that he solicited more feedback than usual from \u201ca lot of people\u201d for the LP, which will come out March 6. \u201cI think every other record that I\u2019ve made, I\u2019ve always felt really guarded about who\u2019s hearing it, and it\u2019s always felt, you know, no one hears it until it\u2019s finished and stuff like that,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I think realizing that that made the music feel like a product, is something that I wanted to reverse.\u201d<\/p>\n
