Poison<\/a>\u2019s Rikki Rockett<\/a> explained why he\u2019d said Bret Michaels<\/a> had demanded six times his colleagues\u2019 payment<\/a> for a reunion tour.<\/p>\n Early discussions had begun for a road trip marking the 40th anniversary of Look What The Cat Dragged In<\/em>, but no deal was ever sealed, as Michaels recently expained<\/a>.<\/p>\n In a new interview with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM<\/a>, drummer Rockett said the band were planning to regroup in 2027, and that he\u2019d been in touch with Michaels after saying the singer had requested $6 for ever $1 made by his bandmates.<\/p>\n READ MORE:<\/strong>\u00a0How Poison\u2019s \u2018Look What the Cat Dragged In\u2019 Helped Define Hair Metal<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cBy the way, none of this just came from me,\u201d Rockett said. \u201cIt\u2019s just I happened to be doing the interview. … All the information I had was the truth, from my standpoint.\u201d<\/p>\n He suggested he felt pressured to redirect attention from himself, guitarist C.C. DeVille and bassist Bobby Dall: \u201c[A] lot of people start assuming things. I was seeing stuff on social media \u2013 \u2018Oh, Rikki has cancer again,\u2019 or \u2018C.C.\u2019s off the wagon again,\u2019 or all these different things. \u2018Those guys don\u2019t really wanna work and Bret wants to work.\u2019 And none of those things are true. We do wanna work; all of us do wanna work. C.C.\u2019s sober. I don\u2019t have cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n Confirming that Michaels was right to say 2026 plans hadn\u2019t reached the point of discussing fees, Rockett went on: \u201cBret\u2019s right … It never did get that far. It got kiboshed at the very beginning. But I just wanted to put a sensible reason to it so that everybody understands that it wasn\u2019t Bobby, C.C. or me, any of those rumors you heard \u2013 that\u2019s not why we weren\u2019t touring. And so I have to answer it with something.\u201d<\/p>\n However, he emphasized: \u201cI was told what Bret wanted, and when you did the math, that\u2019s how the math worked out. And I\u2019m not trying to quarrel with Bret.\u201d<\/p>\n Rockett said he\u2019d talked with Michaels that morning, and the conversation had been \u201cabsolutely positive.\u201d He added: \u201cWe had a good laugh. Of course we talked a little bit. I told him why that information went out, as I just told you…there’s no second shoe to drop.\u201d<\/p>\n He confirmed Poison were aiming to \u201cdo something in \u201927,\u201d explaining: \u201cThat\u2019s one of the things, main things, that Bret and I talked about. … We wanna celebrate 40-plus years with the four of us with fans. \u2026 It\u2019s not gonna happen in \u201926\u2026 but it is gonna happen.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd there\u2019s no more of a headline to stick out there\u2026 I said what I said, Bret said what he said, but today we’re talking about doing something in \u201927, and I know Bobby wants to do it; I talk to C.C. all the time.
