Hip-Hop was in the house at the 2026 Grammy Awards<\/a> as the Clipse<\/a>, Tyler, The Creator<\/a> and Lauryn Hill<\/a> all delivered show-stopping performances on Music\u2019s Biggest Night.<\/p>\n Tyler, who won Best Album Cover and was nominated for a further five awards, brought his two most recent albums, Chromakopia<\/em> and Don\u2019t Tap the Glass<\/em>, to life inside Los Angeles\u2019 Crypto.com Arena with a typically theatrical medley that proved why he\u2019s one of rap\u2019s greatest showmen.<\/p>\n The Hawthorne, California native kicked things off with a high-energy rendition of \u201cThought I Was Dead\u201d while rocking his military-style Chromakopia<\/em> outfit and mask.<\/p>\n As his set segued into a lush interlude version of \u201cLike Him,\u201d legendary actress Regina King joined Tyler on stage to play the role of his mom and give the multi-hyphenate rapper a motivational speech \u2014 just as the real-life version does throughout Chromakopia<\/em>.<\/p>\n Tyler then switched gears to his Don\u2019t Tap the Glass<\/em> era, complete with his red leather threads and matching Ferrari, which he crashed into his Chromakopia<\/em> character (a metaphor for that phase of his career being officially over?).<\/p>\n Backed by a gas station backdrop, Tyler closed things out with the sexually-charged \u201cSugar On My Tongue,\u201d full of Michael Jackson-esque dance moves and an explosive finale.<\/p>\n Later during the ceremony, Lauryn Hill made her first Grammys appearance in 27 years to lead an all-star tribute to D\u2019Angelo<\/a> and Roberta Flack<\/a>, both of whom tragically passed away last year.<\/p>\n \u201cD and I never got to do this on stage together. Make time for people you love while you can,\u201d the Fugees<\/a> legend urged the audience before performing their beautiful 1998 collaboration \u201cNothing Even Matters\u201d with D\u2019Angelo\u2019s band, The Vanguard.<\/p>\n Channeling the late R&B icon, Lucky Daye<\/a> sprinkled some \u201cBrown Sugar\u201d on Music\u2019s Biggest Night, former D\u2019Angelo collaborators Raphael Saadiq<\/a> and Anthony Hamilton<\/a> joined forces to perform \u201cLady\u201d and Leon Thomas<\/a>, who won Best R&B Album and Best Traditional R&B Performance, served up a slice of \u201cDevil\u2019s Pie.\u201d<\/p>\n Arguably the best D\u2019Angelo impression came courtesy of Bilal<\/a>, who put his seasoned falsetto to good use to deliver a sensual yet spiritual rendition of \u201cUntitled (How Does It Feel).\u201d<\/p>\n The posthumous spotlight then shifted to Roberta Flack, with Lauryn Hill performing a stirring cover of \u201cThe First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,\u201d proving she\u2019s still a natural talent in front of the mic.<\/p>\n From there, Leon Bridges<\/a>, Jon Batiste<\/a>, October London<\/a>, Lalah Hathaway<\/a>, John Legend<\/a> and Chaka Khan<\/a> hit the stage to do justice to other Flack classics like \u201cCompared to What,\u201d \u201cThe Closer I Get to You\u201d and \u201cWhere is the Love.\u201d<\/p>\n Another highlight of the night was Lauryn Hill reuniting with Wyclef Jean<\/a> for a medley of Flack\u2019s 1973 hit \u201cKilling Me Softly With His Song\u201d and the Fugees\u2019 own version, which became an international smash in its own right in the mid \u201990s.<\/p>\n Closing out the 2026 Grammys, the Clipse put a bow on Music\u2019s Biggest Night with a statement performance of \u201cSo Far Ahead\u201d that blended Christian gospel and coke rap.<\/p>\n The duo\u2019s Let God Sort Em Out<\/em> co-conspirator Pharrell<\/a> opened the sermon with his heavenly chorus, backed by the Voices of Fire choir, before Pusha T<\/a> and Malice<\/a> blessed the congregration with their reflective, razor-sharp verses.<\/p>\n The Clipse\u2019s debut performance at the Grammys then ended in the most perfect way possible: with fake snow falling from the sky as Push and P stunted on \u2019em in a mink coats.<\/p>\n The performance was the icing on the cake for the Virginia Beach brothers, who earlier in the night won their first-ever Grammy for Best Rap Performance thanks to \u201cChains & Whips,\u201d their blistering, bars-heavy collaboration with Kendrick Lamar<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
