\n\tAfter performing<\/a> the national anthem at the 2026 Super Bowl<\/a>, Charlie Puth<\/a> shared that his particular arrangement was a tribute to Whitney Houston<\/a>. The hitmaker put an choral spin on \u201cThe Star-Spangled Banner,\u201d showcasing the song on a Rhodes keyboard with a choir and orchestra backing him.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThank you everyone for your kind words,\u201d Puth wrote on X after the event. \u201cIt was an honor to sing The National Anthem. I wrote the arrangement in a very specific way to honor Whitney Houston \u2013 I hope that was heard.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tPerforming the national anthem was a long-held dream for Puth. \u201cI\u2019ve actually always wanted to do this,\u201d Puth revealed while participating in the\u00a0Rolling Stone Interview<\/a><\/em>\u00a0earlier this year. \u201cI just want to show people that I can do it,\u201d he added. \u201cI feel like people don\u2019t really think of me as a standalone vocalist at times\u2026 It\u2019ll be pressure the week leading up to it and the hour leading up to it. But once I\u2019m there, it\u2019s going to feel so comfortable and it\u2019s going to sound so good.\u201d<\/p>\n
