\n\tIt\u2019s been seven months since drummer Matt Cameron<\/a> left<\/a> Pearl Jam<\/a>, so what\u2019s going on with the band? In a Zoom interview with Rolling Stone<\/em> that was otherwise focused on his moving new documentary<\/a> Matter of Time<\/em>, about his charity work to support medical research, frontman Eddie Vedder said he recently read a description of the group\u2019s current state that rang true. \u201cThe quote was, I think, \u2018Pearl Jam is in between eras at the moment,’\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I thought that was actually pretty concise.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tVedder dodged the question of whether the band has already found a new drummer, in a manner that may raise fans\u2019 eyebrows. \u201c\u200aIf I were to say anything,\u201d he said, \u201cI think we\u2019d wanna have a band discussion about what we\u2019d wanna say or who would be the messenger or whatever.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tBut Vedder did make it clear that he and the other members of Pearl Jam are currently playing together, and feeling open to evolution, baby<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019re in the lab, we\u2019re woodshedding, excited,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s cool to think of change. As much as we\u2019d like to have done it the way we did it forever \u2014 and we\u2019ll still be able to do that thing \u2014 I think we\u2019re all just excited for the future.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
