Andrew Bird<\/a> has penned a new song for the HBO series The Pitt<\/em>. The aptly titled \u201cNeed Someone,\u201d which Bird wrote with the medical drama\u2019s composer, Gavin Brivik, appears in the show\u2019s next episode, set to air tonight (February 12) at 9 PM EST. Give it a listen below.<\/p>\n The new song is not Bird\u2019s first creation for the small screen. He\u2019s written music for FX\u2019s Baskets<\/em> and the 2021 PBS documentary series Storm Lake<\/em>, and made appearances on FX\u2019s Fargo<\/em> and Disney\u2019s The Muppets.<\/em> He\u2019s also scored a number of films, including Judd Apatow\u2019s The Bubble<\/em> (2022) and Lynn Shelton\u2019s Outside In<\/em> (2017).<\/p>\n Set in a Pittsburgh emergency room, The Pitt<\/em> follows a group of doctors, nurses, and medical students as they navigate a single day\u2019s work, with each episode chronicling one hour of their shift. The show is currently in its second season. Its first season, which premiered in January 2025, won five Emmys, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor for star Noah Wyle.<\/p>\n Bird released his most recent solo albums, Sunday Morning Put-On<\/em> and Outside Problems<\/em><\/a>, in 2024 and 2023, respectively. But technically, his latest full-length record was the collaborative Cunningham Bird<\/em> with singer-songwriter Madison Cunningham.
