He already has Radiohead and the Smile, so shouldn\u2019t someone else get a turn at composing the music for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/paul-thomas-anderson\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paul-thomas-anderson\" data-tag=\"paul-thomas-anderson\">Paul Thomas Anderson<\/a> film? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/este-haim\/\" id=\"auto-tag_este-haim\" data-tag=\"este-haim\">Este Haim<\/a> thinks so. \u201cIf Jonny Greenwood happens to retire, I will be right there for Paul whenever he would like,\u201d she recently told reporters in Berlin, according to <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2026\/film\/global\/este-haim-wants-to-compose-for-paul-thomas-anderson-1236662048\/\">Variety<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/haim\/\" id=\"auto-tag_haim\" data-tag=\"haim\">Haim<\/a> fans, cineastes, and smart alecks will, of course, point out that Este and her sisters have already provided music for some of Anderson\u2019s visuals since he has directed 10 Haim videos in the past decade, when he wasn\u2019t making Oscar-nominated films or directing clips for Radiohead and the Smile. \u201cI think Paul is one of the greatest directors of not just our generation, but of all time,\u201d Este told the press while promoting <em>Sunny Dancer<\/em>, a film she <em>did <\/em>co-compose the score for. \u201cAnd I feel very, very lucky that I\u2019ve gotten to work with him on most of our music videos. I sort of view him as kind of like my older brother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<em>Sunny Dancer<\/em>, a picture starring Bella Ramsey and Neil Patrick Harris, incidentally, was helmed by George Jacques (<em>Black Dog<\/em>), a filmmaker for whom Haim also has effusive words, elevating him to family just like Anderson. \u201cSo I\u2019ve got two sisters, and I have two brothers as well,\u201d she said.
