Following the <a data-id=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/nipsey-hussle-grammy-nominated-rapper-shot-dead-in-l-a-815476\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/nipsey-hussle-grammy-nominated-rapper-shot-dead-in-l-a-815476\/\">death<\/a> of the rapper\u2019s close friend and collaborator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/nipsey-hussle\/\" id=\"auto-tag_nipsey-hussle\" data-tag=\"nipsey-hussle\">Nipsey Hussle<\/a> in 2019, Big Sean was open about how he struggled with and sought therapy for depression and anxiety. Now, the rapper is reflecting on the courage it took to speak candidly about his mental health.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn an exclusive clip from ABC News\u2019 <em>All Access<\/em> interview with Big Sean and Usher, host Linsey Davis asks Big Sean what it felt like to open up about a topic that is \u201cvery taboo in the black community.\u201d Big Sean reveals that he didn\u2019t let that stop him. \u201cI was just sharing what was going on in my life. I didn\u2019t realize that I was being so vulnerable. So, I think that led to a very deep battle of depression, deeper than I experienced when I was like a teenager,\u201d the artist reveals. What followed was an arduous journey for the rapper. \u201cI had to take time away from the music industry being my first obligation, and I had to put myself first,\u201d he says.
