{"id":58337,"date":"2026-02-18T13:17:49","date_gmt":"2026-02-18T13:17:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/18\/chris-hemsworth-confirms-more-thor-in-mcu-after-doomsday\/"},"modified":"2026-02-18T13:17:49","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T13:17:49","slug":"chris-hemsworth-confirms-more-thor-in-mcu-after-doomsday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musicianvoice.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/18\/chris-hemsworth-confirms-more-thor-in-mcu-after-doomsday\/","title":{"rendered":"Chris Hemsworth Confirms More Thor in MCU After \u2018Doomsday\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Much of <em>Avengers: Doomsday<\/em> is still a mystery, but one thing we know for sure: It won\u2019t be the last time we see Chris Hemsworth\u2019s Thor.<\/p>\n<p>During an appearance on the <em>SmartLess<\/em> podcast, the actor revealed he has a \u201ccouple more\u201d appearances as Thor lined up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Will Thor Die in <em>Avengers: Doomsday<\/em>?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>While fans have been wondering about Thor\u2019s role in upcoming films, with some speculating the Asgardian god\u2019s time in the MCU could be nearing its end, it looks like the hero is holding on strong.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, it\u2019s wild,\u201d Hemsworth confirmed when asked if he will make more appearances as Thor in upcoming films, hinting at some unexpected ideas for the character.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was talking to Kevin Feige about it, and he said it\u2019s cool because the audience now expects dramatic turns with the character. And whatever we do next\u2014we\u2019ve got some ideas to do something pretty unique again and hopefully be [different],\u201d Hemsworth added about his future as Thor, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/theplaylist.net\/chris-hemsworth-isnt-done-with-thor-marvel-star-teases-a-couple-more-post-doomsday-appearances-and-a-unique-evolution-for-the-god-of-thu-20260217\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Playlist<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The actor is expected to return in <em>Secret Wars<\/em>, the sequel to <em>Doomsday<\/em> slated for December 2027, but it definitely sounds like additional Thor-led solo MCU adventures are in the pipeline beyond that movie if you go by what Hemsworth shared.<\/p>\n<p>That said, for those wondering, it doesn\u2019t look like Thor will die in <em>Doomsday<\/em>, though of course we won\u2019t know the character\u2019s true fate until the movie comes out later this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/screencrush.com\/x-men-avengers-doomsday-villains\/\" target=\"_blank\">The X-Men Are the Secret Villains of <em>Avengers: Doomsday<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Hemsworth is a pro at trying new things at this point, having experienced Thor\u2019s adventures shift from tonally dark and gritty to playful and tongue-in-cheek between various films.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been so much fun. And what I\u2019ve really enjoyed is\u2014unlike a lot of what the other characters that the [actors] were given, they have had to be pretty consistent\u2014 whereas working with Taika Waititi on his films versus Kenneth Branagh with those films and then with the Russos, all [the films] had quite a different sort of tonal opinion. But [the Russos] also let me try different things,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What Does Chris Hemsworth Think of <em>Love &amp; Thunder<\/em>?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Hemsworth last appeared as Thor on the big screen in 2022\u2019s <em>Thor: Love &amp; Thunder<\/em>. The film received mixed reviews and was much less well received than its comedic predecessor, 2017\u2019s <em>Thor: Ragnarok<\/em>, something Hemsworth is well aware of.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we made <em>Ragnarok<\/em>, it was quite a twist, with Taika\u2019s [film]. And it was so fun. There was a huge appreciation for the shift. And then [with] <em>Love And Thunder<\/em>, it was kind of like a Monty Python sketch, and we took the piss probably a little much, and then there was some backlash,\u201d Hemsworth explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was this real kind of, \u2018Why is he a goofball and why is it like this?\u2019 And [audiences] violently were offended and we were like, \u2018Oh, we\u2019re just having fun or trying to try something different,\u2019\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><em>Avengers: Doomsday<\/em> hits theaters December 18, 2026.
