Yaya Bey<\/a> is back with a new album. Fidelity,<\/em> the Brooklyn-based singer\u2019s fourth album, lands April 17 on Drink Sum Wtr, and she\u2019s shared the touching first single for the LP, \u201cBlue.\u201d \u201cI wrote it when I was rock bottom coming off the heels of Do It Afraid<\/em>.\u201d Bey said of the song. \u201cI realized I had to make a big shift mentally and emotionally or I was gonna drown.\u201d Watch the music video for it below.<\/p>\n

Bey\u2019s fourth album delves into her experience with grief following the death<\/a> of her father, Juicy Crew member Grand Daddy I.U., as well as the loss of Black community due to the widespread gentrification of New York. The record also explores necessary renewal in the aftermath of heartache, as well as her commitment to remaining \u201creligiously joyful\u201d as society crumbles. The album features \u201cEgyptian Musk,\u201d a reggae-infused collaboration with the musician Nesta.<\/p>\n
