Shelf Lives<\/strong> will release debut album Hypernormal<\/em> on February 25.<\/span><\/p>\n I\u2019ve not really listened to much electro punk and at first I wasn\u2019t sure if I would like this but I was pleasantly surprised.<\/span><\/p>\n I don\u2019t quite think it\u2019s my genre but from the opening of 2phoneS<\/em> to the closing tone deF<\/em>, there were plenty of bits that I enjoyed.<\/span><\/p>\n The opener had a nice hook \u201c2phoneS but I don\u2019t look at either<\/em>\u201d \u2013 I wish that was true but sadly it\u2019s not. The sound effects work well too.<\/span><\/p>\n 60K<\/em> has some relatable lyrics including \u201cbitches don\u2019t know me, they really wanna own me just so they can own me, no no no please, low key, I don\u2019t need the money, I\u2019d rather cut my tongue than let a boy control me<\/em>.\u201d And the innocence in the vocal delivery is fab.<\/span><\/p>\n baby sonG<\/em> reminded me a lot of MIA<\/strong> with the vocal delivery and instrumental undertones. I think it\u2019s my favourite of the tracks too.<\/span><\/p>\n 666 (PVA)<\/em>\u2019s instrumentation was the best of the album but the lyrics were a bit lacking for me.<\/span><\/p>\n It is a good album, but I felt for the most part, the instrumental was really similar throughout and it was the lyrics and vocal deliveries that made the tracks stand out alongside the sound effects.<\/span><\/p>\n
