John Mellencamp<\/a> doesn\u2019t care about the Grammys<\/a>, and he\u2019s not afraid to share his opinion.<\/p>\n During a recent appearance on Bill Maher\u2019s Club Random<\/em><\/a> podcast, Mellencamp admitted that the awards — promotionally referred to as \u201cmusic\u2019s biggest night\u201d — mean absolutely nothing to him.<\/p>\n \u201cI have never been to the Grammys in my life,\u201d Mellencamp revealed on the show. When Maher, who was seemingly surprised by the rocker\u2019s statement, admitted he had attended this year\u2019s Golden Globes, Mellencamp quickly interjected.<\/p>\n \u201cDo you know what a Golden Globe is or a Grammy? But the awards themselves are something the rocker clearly has no interest in.<\/p>\n Mellencamp has been nominated for 14 Grammys across his storied career, but only has a single win to show for it. That came in 1983 when \u201cHurts So Good\u201d earned the singer the award for Best Male Rock Performer.<\/p>\n Mellencamp has never performed at the Grammy Awards ceremony, though he did take the stage for a special Grammy Hall of Fame Gala in 2025 at which he helped pay tribute to Republic Records.<\/p>\n He also performed at the annual MusiCares Person of the Year Event (hosted by the Grammys) in 2015, during a star studded night celebrating Bob Dylan<\/a>.<\/p>\n More recently, Mellencamp performed at a pre-Grammy party hosted by music publishing and talent management company Primary Wave Music in 2026.<\/p>\n Mellencamp will hit the road this summer for an extensive U.S. tour.
