It could be about any couple or group of people or organization that perseveres over a long period of time. If it is referring to us, it\u2019s actually somewhat self-deprecating as the goal is simply to \u2018seek to occupy the crawlspace of the pantheon.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Guide By Voices - We Outlast Them All\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HOfEJGt-Dk8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe upbeat rocker is the first glimpse from said crawlspace, an album that \u2014 like its 2025 predecessor <em>Thick, Rich, and Delicious <\/em>\u2014 was recorded in-studio, a rarity for a band with members scattered around the country. \u201cI just felt that using that approach yielded a pretty good record,\u201d Pollard says. \u201cI think the performances were very tight and energetic so I thought we should go for it again \u2014 albeit a slightly more serious tone.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content-image \/\/  \">\n<figure class=\"o-figure   aligncenter size-large aligncenter lrv-u-max-width-100p\" style=\"width:1024px\">\n<div class=\"c-lazy-image  lrv-u-border-a-2\">\n<div class=\"lrv-a-crop-16x9\" style=\"padding-bottom:calc((1024\/1024)*100%);\">\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div><figcaption class=\"c-figcaption  lrv-u-flex lrv-u-flex-direction-column lrv-u-align-items-center\">\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tPollard adds that he worked \u201cmuch more diligently on this set of lyrics,\u201d he says.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cI chiseled away at lines and sections to make sure the phrasings were totally acceptable.\u00a0 I wanted them to have an overall emotionally conceptual feel. At times it feels somewhat autobiographical, especially a few specific songs. \u2018Lost in the Sun\u2019 I think is about being out on the road, maybe out West. \u2018Out With a Theory\u2019 is almost the ballad of the history of Guided by Voices. Solid guitar rock, inventive melodies and instrumentation all contribute to the Dayton, Ohio, band\u2019s longevity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cI do think that everyone in the band turned in top-rate performances, which they pretty much always do,\u201d Pollard says of this latest release. \u201cThe album was fun, I enjoy it, and now it\u2019s on to the next one.
