Last week, American Football<\/a> confirmed that their fourth studio LP<\/a>\u2014officially titled American Football<\/em> but commonly known as LP 4<\/em>\u2014will arrive later this year. Today, the band have shared the album\u2019s lead single. \u201cBad Moons<\/a>\u201d started life as two separate songs, which were combined into a single eight-minute track. Alex Acy and R\u00e9mi Belleville directed the accompanying music video. Watch it below.<\/p>\n \u201cI decided to begin the song as a child,\u201d American Football frontman Mike Kinsella said in a press statement. \u201cOr, rather\u2026two. Stacked up in a single trench coat; secretly, reluctantly living the life of a grown man, accruing all of his missteps and guilt along the way. By the end, these missteps are almost spilling out of the boys. A cathartic confession, hopefully at least somewhat relatable to anyone listening who\u2019s ever lived a life.\u201d<\/p>\n American Football\u2019s LP 4<\/em> is out May 1 on Polyvinyl. The band will kick off a sprawling tour<\/a> of North America and Europe later that month.
