Fellow Wu-Tang member <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DVJ3BnckTN1\/\">Method Man wrote<\/a>, \u201cParadise my Brother safe Travels!!\u201d on Instagram alongside a photo of himself with Grant. \u201cBruh I am not ok.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tGrant grew up in the Park Hill projects of Staten Island alongside the future members of the Wu-Tang Clan. In 1992, he helped gather the necessary financing to create their debut single \u201cProtect Ya Neck.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cI think I came with most of the money,\u201d <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/okayplayer\/status\/2026431306339602787?s=46&amp;t=Sog3Tcl1g7IoqZ0y2iGNRA\">he told Passion of Weiss in 2011.<\/a> \u201cI was more the financial guy and Ghost and RZA were the guys that had the musical talent\u2026Everything that we learned was hard knock life, you figure it out as you go along, and take cues from those that are actively doing things. At the peak of its popularity, Wu Wear grossed $25 million annually. \u201cThe Wu brand and logo was subliminal,\u201d Grant said. \u201cIt\u2019s just like when you see a Pepsi and say let\u2019s have a Pepsi together. The logo and the Wu was like an international communicator. It\u2019s like if you familiar with Gucci or Louis Vuitton, you just identify and go towards it because it\u2019s familiar. You identify to people with that aesthetic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn the 2019-2023 Hulu series <em>Wu-Tang: An American Saga<\/em>, Grant was portrayed by Marcus Callender. \u201cThe first conversation we ever had, we spoke for like three hours,\u201d Callendar said in 2023. \u201cIt was a very surreal moment. He never gave me a pointer and said, \u2018Do it like this, do it like that.\u2019 It was never like that.
