After adopting two during the pandemic, she came home from her first time touring again to a rude surprise. \u201cOne of them, while making direct eye contact with me, walked over to one of my potted plants, and peed into it,\u201d she says, laughing. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018I hear you! I\u2019m gonna keep doing this, but I\u2019m sorry. I deserve that.\u2019\u2009\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe road is now imminent once again \u2014 sorry to say, kitties \u2014\u00a0 as Mitski gears up for more new music. The musician won\u2019t say much about her eighth studio album, <em>Nothing\u2019s About to Happen to Me<\/em> (out Feb. 27), but it\u2019s about an eccentric, reclusive woman who finds freedom in a home of her own creation. [Kiki gets] burnt out and loses her magic. She can no longer speak to her familiar cat, Jiji, and this is devastating. I feel like this is exactly why Miyazaki stories are so good, because it\u2019s so real. You can\u2019t get your old childhood magic back. Don\u2019t harm cats.\u201d And that\u2019s huge; millions of people were then inspired to be kind to cats. We live in a world where a lot of people think of cats as furry pieces of furniture.
