Sebastian Bach<\/a> is one of the rare rock singers who can still hit the skyscraping high notes of his youth nearly 40 years into his career. It turns out he\u2019s got a specific warm-up routine to keep his voice in tip-top shape \u2014 and other famous vocalists, including Axl Rose<\/a>, have since adopted the same regimen.<\/p>\n Bach broke down his unconventional warm-up methods in a recent interview with Elizabeth Zharoff, professional opera singer and host of the Charismatic Voice<\/a>, which you can watch below.<\/p>\n READ MORE: <\/strong>What to Expect From Sebastian Bach’s ‘The Party Never Ends’ Tour<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cWhen I joined Skid Row<\/a> in 1987, Jon Bon Jovi<\/a> was helping out the band,\u201d Bach recalled. \u201cAnd he sent me to his personal vocal coach, a man by the name of Don Lawrence.\u201d<\/p>\n Lawrence has worked with singers such as Rose, Lady Gaga<\/a>, Whitney Houston, Bono<\/a> and others.\u00a0His\u00a0father, Martin, was credited with popularizing the classical Bel Canto singing technique among modern pop and rock singers.<\/p>\n \u201cHe would make us record our lessons on cassette,\u201d Bach continued. \u201cAnd so when digitizing came out in the mid-\u201890s, the very first thing I did was I digitized all of my vocal lessons, me singing with Don when I was 19, 20. So then I made a compilation of the best vocal lessons that really get my voice going, the right exercises, and I made a half-hour tape back in \u201994 that I still sing to every day. \u2026 And in effect, I\u2019m keeping my voice where it was when I was 19. I\u2019m doing the same exact lesson.\u201d<\/p>\n The results speak for themselves, to the point that some of Bach\u2019s peers have asked for his routine.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople have heard me at shows do my warm-up and have asked for a copy of it. Number one: Axl Rose of Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a>,\u201d Bach said. \u201cHe warms up to me. He has for like 15 years now. He goes, \u2018Baz, can I please have a copy of that?\u2019 I go, \u2018Yes.\u2019 And his people tell me he does it sometimes two or three times a day and they can hear \u2018cause I’m talking between the scales. I’m going, \u2018Oh, that’s wild.\u2019 And they can hear me talking and stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n READ MORE: <\/strong>The 11 Best Hair Metal Debut Albums, Ranked<\/a><\/p>\n Rose apparently isn\u2019t the only one who uses Bach\u2019s warm-up tape. \u201cLita Ford<\/a> warms up to it,\u201d he said. \u201cPhil Lewis<\/a> from L.A. Guns<\/a>. John Bush<\/a> of Armored Saint<\/a>, I sent him one. Every one of them [uses it] and it’s me at the age of 19 or 20 doing all the Bel Canto scales. And it just works.\u201d<\/p>\n Bach is currently putting his vocal warm-up to good use as he just launched a North American tour<\/a> that runs through early April.
