Hozier and co-producer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/aaron-dessner\/\" id=\"auto-tag_aaron-dessner\" data-tag=\"aaron-dessner\">Aaron Dessner<\/a> of the National joined them on stage.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mumford &amp; Sons: Rubber Band Man ft. Hozier, Aaron Dessner (Live) - SNL\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WBLmwB_YIUM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t<em>Prizefighte<\/em>r, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/marcus-mumford\/\" id=\"auto-tag_marcus-mumford\" data-tag=\"marcus-mumford\">Marcus Mumford<\/a> said several months out from its release, was his favorite of the group\u2019s albums thus far.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s like we got to this stage in our careers where we\u2019re comfortable in our skin now, and so we can talk straight,\u201d Mumford, 39, told <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/mumford-and-sons-talks-new-album-prizefighter-exclusive-11838804\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">People Magazine<\/a>. \u201cAnd this is the straightest talking record I think we have. And so it\u2019s the closest to the essence of who we are, honestly. And that\u2019s why I love it so much, because it feels like representing that on record can be really hard and really challenging, and you can get most of the way to success. But there\u2019s always edifice, I think, and this one doesn\u2019t feel like it has much of that in it. It\u2019s just f\u2014ing us and our mates, and that\u2019s what our band is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tCo-founder Ted Dwane, 41, praised Dessner\u2019s production work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cDessner, he just feels like a real ally,\u201d the bassist said. \u201cWe\u2019ve obviously been a fan of The National for a long time, and we met him and worked with him as we were preparing to make our third record,\u00a0<em>Wilder Mind<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe group\u2019s second song on <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/snl\/\" id=\"auto-tag_snl\" data-tag=\"snl\">SNL<\/a><\/em> was the opening track to <em>Prizefighter<\/em>, \u201cHere,\u201d featuring Chris Stapleton.
