\n\tWhat a difference 48 hours can make. On Tuesday, Courtney Love<\/a> was dropping hints<\/a> that she was reuniting Hole<\/a>, @-ing former Hole bassist Melissa Auf der Maur<\/a>, \u201cSo do we tell the kids about the tour?\u201d Well, it turns out, there is no Hole tour at all.<\/p>\n

\n\tResponding to a comment on Instagram from Spin<\/em>, Love confirmed, \u201cNo Hole reunion.\u201d She went on to write that Auf der Maur are \u201cplaying some shows, new songs,\u201d followed by a series of emojis (mostly eggs), a tag for Kate Moss\u2019 modeling agency, and the words, \u201cThey didn\u2019t see us, Patsy.\u201d (And before you get excited again, remember that Hole\u2019s former drummer was Patty, not Patsy, Schemel.)<\/p>\n

\n\tLove also added the following comment<\/a> to her original Instagram post: \u201cNot a reunion baby. Me and @xmadmx touring new songs,\u201d followed by a string of emojis.<\/p>\n

\n\tSo here we are again, another Hole reunion deferred. Hole, whose two most consistent members were Love and guitarist Eric Erlandson, broke up officially in 2002. Although Love announced a Hole reunion in 2009, the lineup featured no other previous members of the band, a trend that carried over to the 2010 Hole album, Nobody\u2019s Daughter<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tHole last performed together at an after-party<\/a> for a documentary about Schemel in 2012. The three-song set featured a lineup of Love, Erlandson, Auf der Maur, and Schemel, and found them playing two covers, Beat Happening\u2019s \u201cRed Head Walking\u201d and the Wipers\u2019 \u201cOver the Edge,\u201d along with Hole\u2019s \u201cMiss World.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter all the iterations of Hole fizzled out officially, Love has been regularly teasing reunions, posting a photo of herself with Erlandson<\/a> together at the end of 2013, followed by the promise of a new single<\/a> the next year. Love and the Celebrity Skin <\/em>lineup were photographed together in 2019, and Love and Auf der Maur had planned a tour together in 2020 that Covid derailed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn 2021, Love did not mince words during a Vogue <\/em>interview<\/a> in response to a question about whether Hole would reunite: \u201cNo absolutely not. And you guys have gotta get over it. Our old manager Peter Mensch calls once a year to ask about a reunion: \u2018Hey, just doing my thing I do every year with you and Jimmy Page [of Led Zeppelin].\u2019 And I\u2019m so honored to be in that company, but it\u2019s just not gonna happen.\u201d<\/p>\n
