Danish alternative bands Hiraki<\/strong> and Meejah<\/strong> will release Interwoven<\/em>, a conceptual collaborative EP on March 13 through Pelagic Records.<\/span><\/p>\n It begins with an atmospheric guitar line and some haunting vocals in Redirect Revenge<\/em>. The vocal delivery from <\/span>Mai Soon Young \u00d8vlisen<\/span><\/strong> is beautifully melodic, even as the intensity from the drums and bass ramps up. Her voice is absolutely stunning.<\/span><\/p>\n Preserve Manifest<\/em> and All Contrast<\/em> are much more angsty, with more screamy vocals and punky sound. The latter also has some funky instrumentation.<\/span><\/p>\n The description for the EP says that the collaboration forced Meejah<\/strong> to go darker and heavier and Hiraki<\/strong>\u00a0to branch out more experimentally and with longer tracks, and the opener Redirect Revenge<\/em> certainly is a longer track, sitting in at more than eight minutes long. But it\u2019s done well and worth every second.<\/span><\/p>\n I have to admit, I was not familiar with either Hiraki<\/strong> or Meejah<\/strong> before listening to the EP but I will be checking out their individual works as I really enjoyed the contrast between the melodic and heavier moments that both bands bring to the table here.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
