Drake<\/a> inducted Nelly Furtado<\/a> into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the 2026 Junos, the annual awards show hosted by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS). \u201cYou were our north star,\u201d the rapper said in a pre-recorded video, \u201cthe Portuguese princess who could go from spitting sixteens with Swollen Members to dropping \u2018Maneater\u2019 and \u2018Promiscuous\u2019 with Timbaland<\/a>.\u201d Watch his full message below, alongside Furtado\u2019s acceptance speech and a tribute performance featuring Lido Pimienta<\/a>, Tanya Tagaq<\/a>, and Alessia Cara<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI’m so happy that you came out at that show a couple years ago,\u201d Drake added, ostensibly referring the 2022 concert<\/a> where Furtado joined him onstage to perform \u201cPromiscuous\u201d and \u201cI\u2019m Like a Bird.\u201d He also took the opportunity to fire shots at the Junos: \u201cI know you\u2019re still thinking about those six awards that you gave to Shad in 2011 when you snubbed Take Care<\/em><\/a> as I hosted the 40th anniversary of your awards show.\u201d Drake ended the video, in typical Drake fashion, with a promise of \u201cIceman<\/em> coming soon.\u201d<\/p>\n Shad, who won Rap Recording of the Year for his album TSOL<\/em><\/a> at the 2011 Junos, has since taken to Instagram to fact-check Drake. \u201c[Just] for the record: I won 1 Juno–not 6,\u201d the Canadian rapper wrote in an Instagram story viewed by Pitchfork. \u201cAnd his nominated album was Thank Me Later<\/em><\/a> (Take Care<\/em> won the Juno the next year).\u201d He also posted a video<\/a> of himself lip-syncing to his verse on Homeboy Sandman\u2019s 2023 loosie \u201cIgnoring Sh*t.\u201d<\/p>\n Tate McRae won big last night, taking home Album of the Year, for So Close to What<\/em><\/a>, Single of the Year, for \u201cSports Car,\u201d and Artist of the Year.
